To send and receive messages from the Kafka component your network needs to support contacting the Kafka Brokers as follows:

• Port 9092
• IP address corresponding to kafka.scimma.org, note that there may be several 
  • Note that kafka.scimma.org resolves to several IP addresses.
  • The number of addresses and addresses themselves have been stable, but is not written in stone
  • The unix command   $ nslookup kafak.scimma.org  is the best source of truth
